Pittsburgh Trip- The Drive Up

We are back from Pittsburgh! The main purpose of our trip was to go see the Frank Lloyd Wright house, Falling Water, and we decided we might as well check out the city for a few days while we were up there. It was an exciting trip, we've never been anywhere that neither of us has been to before, so it was completely new and different!

I probably took over 1000 photos.. So I will be splitting them up into many blog posts integrated with my other posts. I'm sure no one wants to read about my entire trip in one sitting, and I don't think my computer would like me editing a mile lost post!

I actually like going on long car rides, and I especially love taking pictures the entire way there. Maybe that's why my photo count is so high?! ;) I actually kept having dreams before we left that I had forgotten to take any pictures on the trip up there. What a nightmare!!  Anyway for my first Pittsburgh post I will share my favorite photos from the drive.

It rained almost the entire way, so I kept myself entertained by taking silly raindrop pictures.

It took me off guard how quickly we got to Virginia so I almost missed that shot! It also started snowing right as we got into Pennsylvania, so that was exciting..

I'm not sure I've ever traveled through the mountains in the winter, at least not that I can remember. I thought the yellow grass with the blue sky was really pretty, since it's usually green when I see it.

There's always interesting things to see along the way!  Someone had a bonfire going in the first picture.

I scoped this place out on google maps before we left and just knew that's where we were going for lunch. It was a crazy place and they still had their Christmas tree up, but the waffles were good!

There was an option to take a scenic highway for part of the way, so we did it. However, I maaay have mis-read the directions to get back on the interstate and ended up getting us lost in the backwoods of West Virginia with no cell phone reception. But we made our way out eventually and we definitely got our share of scenery!

There was a neat lookout you could walk to, to view the bridge we had just crossed. Pretty crazy looking!

Between stopping a few times and going on our little "detour" it ended up taking us a lot longer than expected to get there. So boy were we happy when we saw this sign!

Well that's all for now, plenty more where that came from!
