Construction Zone

Our favorite walking/biking trail has been closed for construction, they're building a huge road bridge above it.

But we decided to walk on it anyway.

I guess these will eventually be the columns that hold up the bridge!

I don't know what this little truck does but it's cute!

What I wore

 Outfit Details
Skirt: Delias
Shirt:Forever 21
Shoes: Target
Forever 21
Belt: Forever 21

This is another skirt that just wasn't long enough to wear high up on my waist, but that problem was fixed when I put this belt just above the skirt which makes it look a little longer.

I had forgotten that I even had this skirt, I saw it in my drawer one day when I was looking for something else! Party!

Cat Photos Friday #22 Chester's Coffee

One time when I got an iced coffee from Starbucks, Chester went nuts for it!

First he licked the condensation off the sides because he has an extreme love for water, then he went for the straw..

Cloud wasn't sure what all the fuss was about.

Waterfall Walk

Look a waterfall!

The motel we stayed at on the blue ridge was in walking distance to this little waterfall.

After that miserably long winter we had, it was so nice to be surrounded by so many green plants.

We saw a lady's slipper orchid in the wild!!

What I Wore With Red Hair

My first outfit post with my new hair!

 Outfit Details
Skirt: Forever 21
Shirt: Thrifted
Shoes: Target
Necklace: Forever 21
Belt: Forever 21

I usually never wore this skirt high up on my waist with my shirt tucked in because I thought that made it just a liiitle too short. But then I had the idea to put the belt above the skirt instead of over it like I had been doing, which allows me to wear the skirt a little bit lower where I am more comfortable!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

I've been looking for a good chocolate chip cookie recipe and I recently found this one. The picture made my mouth water so I thought I would give it a try!

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup  unsalted butter
1/2 cup  firmly packed light brown sugar
6 Tbs. granulated sugar
1  egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups  semisweet chocolate chips

Cream the butter and sugar together until smooth, then add the egg and the vanilla.

In a separate bowl mix together all the dry ingredients, the flour, baking soda and salt.

Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until incorporated, then add the chocolate chips.

Of course I had a supervisor!

Once everything is mixed, spoon out onto baking sheet, giving them plenty of room to spread.

Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes, until the edges turn golden brown.

And enjoy!

Mine ended up spreading out more than I hoped, so maybe next time I'll make them a little thicker to start with. They were really good though!

Cat Photos Friday #21- Carrot Top

I recently picked a carrot from my vegetable garden. The cats were enamored with the leafy green carrot top.

But in the end, they decided it didn't taste very good and went on their way!
