July Recap

I can't believe it's already August and the last full month of summer! Time has really flew these past few months.  Here is a look back at some highlights in July:

For the Fourth of July I baked a pie! I never knew how easy they were to make. We also had some yummy kabobs.

Playing with sparklers.

For my sister's birthday she had a costume party and dressed as Elsa from Frozen.

And I dressed as a 60s house wife! Check out my mom's party planning blog for more pictures: makeitspecialpartyplanning

My aunt and grandma came for a visit and we all went to Monticello, Thomas Jefferson's house.

Cloud was angry at us for leaving her and wouldn't let me touch her. She also pigged out while we were gone and got really fat.

We made fried green tomato sandwiches with tomatoes from our garden just like I had been dreaming about! We used pesto havarti cheese and it was so yummy!

I have been making a lot of jewelry recently, these ones can be found in my shop!

And just last week we visited a dairy farm where I got to pet a day old baby cow and nearly died from cuteness overload.

I am really looking forward to August, we are going to the BEACH.

  1. sounds like your July was wonderful. that pie looks awesome! i was really surprised at how easy they are the first time i made one, too. during July i was at a county fair and felt something brush my leg and i turned around to see a black baby cow with it's head sticking out the gate! i nearly died from a cuteness overload, too. he was so curious and happily looking around and kept licking my hand with his thick rubbery tongue and i couldn't stop smiling :)

  3. Kitty moods are always so funny aren't they?! Like one of our cats will spontaneously start purring even when she's in a room by herself and the bedroom is the *only* place to be in the middle of a thunderstorm. Those green tomatoes look intriguing, can't say i've come across those before!

    1. Cat moods are hilarious! Green tomatoes are just regular tomatoes picked before they turn red! I can't tell you how long I searched for "Green tomato" seeds before I figured that out.. Haha

  5. What an amazing month! Homemade pie sounds delicious... I am glad to hear that it was easy to make!
Your sister looks gorgeous as Elsa, and you make a most beautiful 60s housewife.
Angry Cloud is both cute and scary at the same time.
Fried green tomato sandwiches sound yummy! I've never eaten green tomatoes before, but it's calling me.
Baby cows are so cute! Back when I lived in Florida, my boyfriend and I had about a 40 minute long commute to work and back, and along the way we would see cow fields. Once I was eating a hamburger and oohing over how cute the cows were and it was just such a weird concept that I was oogling what I was eating.

  7. That pie looks delicious. I'd love to try homemade pie one day. And you make a gorgeous 60's gal, and your sister makes a beautiful Elsa. It must have been such a wonderful experience patting that little black calf. I can imagine how soft it was. And those fried green tomato sandwiches are something that I could certainly go for right now. It must be so great being able to eat something that you've grown yourself.
