What I Wore- Posing With Sunflowers

Outfit Details
Dress: Target
Shoes: Thrifted
Belt: Forever 21

These shoes were my first pair I ever found at a thrift store, and since then I've only gotten one other pair. I never seem to remember to check out the shoes when I'm thrift shopping; maybe it's because I've always been slightly apprehensive about buying thrift store shoes since they're not so easily washable like clothes are. Anyone have any good tips on how to disinfect them when you bring them home?

Whenever I wear this particular outfit I'm always reminded of the one time I wore it on an unusually warm day in December, close to Christmas, two years ago. I remember being excited for spring, even though winter had just begun. I think that was one of the first moments I started preferring summer over winter.

  1. What stunning sunflowers you have growing in your garden, my dear. Lovely photos, although I can't seem to figure out that pattern on the dress! It must be flowers. Cool penny loafers that hardly look like they've been worn. Need to get some kind of disinfecting spray that kills germs, maybe in the shoe polish aisle or where they sell the Dr. Scholl shoe inserts.

  4. I'm the SAME way with thrifted shoes! I think it's kind of icky but then I see these bloggers with such amazing thrifted boots and I want to reconsider. When you find a good way to clean them let me know ;) And you got to wear this dress in December?! Jealous.

  10. My dad always scoffed at the shoe section in thrift stores but I can't help but look! As for cleaning, I have no idea! If they don't smell and are in good shape, I think it's generally okay. My best guess would be to use baking soda, since it's a cleaner and a deodorizer, but that's just a guess! maybe I should try that sometime :P
