Self Journal- Sour

I've been rather absent on blogger lately.

I document my outfit every now and then, and of course I never miss a cat post, but I have been feeling uninspired to do much else. My new job has been bringing me down, plus the long dark winter days did nothing to help my attitude. I have tried many times to write a post about how I feel, but it ends up being a negative rant and I just end up deleting it before it publishes. That place makes me sour and it's hard to snap out of it.

This week though, has been better. We took a little mid week trip that refreshed my mind a bit. And the days are getting longer and the flowers have started blooming.

Maybe a little bit of my inspiration is coming back.

Steven and I leave each other little drawing at work. I put mine on my test tube racks to add some cheer to my  cruddy days!

  1. Aww too bad you are feeling sour, although I have to say, I love that expression. It aptly describes that blah, angry-ish feeling. I'm sure every person in the world can relate. Writing out how you are feeling is a good way to help you process even if you never post or show them to anyone. Then it might be easier to move on to more positve thoughts and actions. I find gardening helps by totally immersing yourself in a fun rewarding project, much more so than cleaning, although the end result of making a space spiffy is almost as gratifying.
Ps Those little drawings of Steven's sure are cute!

  2. Things always get better. I've been through nothing but stress these past couple of weeks myself and it's not until yesterday that it started to wear off. Your drawings are so cute and definitely bring some cheer into the atmosphere. :)
Sending you some lovely positive vibes!~<3~<3~<3

  3. Hopefully the weather will warm up soon and the sun will come out. I've been feeling a little sour myself as of late. Haven't been able to find a balance between work and life... I feel like I work a ton and then when I get home I don't want to do anything! My blog has been put on the back burner as well; and yet it started off so well this year! I hope you find your inspiration and joy :)

  4. We all go through stages like this - you'll get out of the funk eventually. I think it's really important to take a break and come back feeling revived and refreshed after a while away from writing and blogging. Its addictive and we spend a lot of time doing it, corresponding with other bloggers and thinking about it even when we're out. As bloggers we eat, sleep and breathe blogging! So naturally it drains us eventually.
Take a break - we'll all be here when you get back :) xxx

  5. I've been experiencing a similar funk lately, too! I actually felt inspired to post a couple of days ago.
I'm glad that inspiration is coming back for you. Sometimes I do the same thing - write a big, long rant and then delete it. Whatever helps!
Ever since I started working a desk job last year, I've noticed my post rate has gone way down. I think it's just being in front of a computer all day. At least that's part of it =/
Take care, and I look forward to whatever you post!

  6. i totally understand this. i've been going though some sour and challenging, uninspiring days as well. there are lots of forgotten photographs, places and words that i haven't been sharing. some days it's just best to take it one day at a time and dwell on the good things, like those adorable drawings or a little day trip, which can really help... you're on the right track!

  7. I have been feeling exactly the same but for different reasons. You are not alone and we are here for you. I hope you feel you can always share how you feel here no matter how negative it is. But I do understand that it can be hard to know what to say, I always want to share more of my blog but never know how to. Best wishes to you.

  8. I know the feeling! Get some l-tyrosine from a health food store. I recommend the solaray brand. Takes about 2 weeks to work but it's a lifesaver, take it everyday. I wrote a blog post about it.
