No Words Just Photos

Sometimes I get a feeling, like I want to write about something, but the words are just beyond my reach.

I have something that I want to say, a feeling that I want to express, a moment that I want to capture.

But the words won't come out.

Maybe that's why I take pictures.

As much as I love taking pictures of pretty flowers, and things that most people would consider "regular photo subjects"

My favorites are ones like these, that make me think of something that I don't have words for.

Like seeing glimpses of a mostly forgotten dream. Memories of a time that seems like it was lifetimes ago, but also, not that far past.

In the Garden- First Bulbs

Last fall I planted 40 crocus and many hyacinth bulbs in the backyard. I love planting  bulbs, how these strange brown onion looking things get plonked deep into the ground where they stay hidden, until springtime prompts them to turn into beautiful flowers. It seems like magic!

The first crocuses to pop up were all yellow and I was pretty disappointed because I bought what was supposed to be a variety pack. But soon enough all kinds of different colors started coming up!

I love the simple little stripes

I was also excited to have so many different colors of hyacinth, but like a dummy I never got around to taking pictures of them.

My favorite were all the cute colors of crocus that popped up around the veggie garden fence

This one was my favorite crocus

I can't wait to see them all again next year!

Cat Photos Friday #57- Chester Baking Buddy

Chester loves hanging out on the counter top to see what's going on.  I tried as hard as I could to teach them not to get on it, but this guy is too stubborn so I gave up! Plus it's a little bit cute.

The Adventures of a New Shed

We got a new shed..

One evening we randomly decided to make a trip to Lowes home improment, and for some reason we choose to go the the further away one which we hardly ever go to. We wandered outside and that's when we spotted one of the display model sheds for sale. It was the same exact one we had planned on eventually getting, except bigger, already built, and the same price as the un-built small one! So we called the number on the sign and left a message.

A few days passed and we had already talked ourselves out of getting it. We imagined it would be too complicated to figure out how to get it out of there and we didn't want to think about it right now. Buut when we listened to the voice mail the guy left because we ignored his call, it didn't sound that complicated at all, so after a few more phone calls, we decided to go for it!

A couple days later and we were at Lowes waiting to meet the guy who was supposed to move it to our house, and that's when everything got crazy. The moving guy was hours late, (although he insisted he was almost there every time we called him), the people at Lowes were unprepared and couldn't find the right forklift attachments and we almost ran out of gas on the way there.

Also there was this awkwardly placed pole so when everybody was finally ready to move it  they ended up having to move some other sheds out of the way first and then drag the shed out with some chains attached to a truck!

But they somehow did it!

And it made the journey to our yard in one piece!

We saw the shed on a Monday and it was at our house by Saturday, when we had no plans of buying a shed anytime soon! But I'm so glad we found him.

Then a few days layer we said goodbye to our old shed, who has been the background of many outfit photo shoots. The guy who came and got it said he had plans to turn it into a house for his ducks, so it went to good use.

What I Wore- New Belt

Outfit Details
Dress: Forever 21
Cardigan: Thrifted
Shoes: Charlotte Russe
Belt: Thrifted

(Whoops, these turned out overexposed. )
The weather has finally warmed up and I am excited to get back to just being able to throw on a dress and be on my way. I am also trying to broaden my belt collection beyond the two that you've probably seen me wear in nearly every outfit post. There are so many belts at thrift stores, but it's hard to come up with outfit ideas in my head that will go with them so I usually just stare at them for a while and then not buy anything. But I figured you can't go wrong with a classic white belt, so I picked out this one on one of my more recent thrift store trips.

Photo an Hour- SC Roadtrip

I have attempted a photo an hour post a couple times now, but always wind up forgetting about it halfway through the day. This one started out unintentional because I always take a bunch of photos during roadtrips, but then I decided to try and keep it up the whole day.

We took a little road trip to Clemson SC the other week to see the organist, Cameron Carpenter play during his tour around the world. We found out about this guy about a year ago after we saw his crazy videos online, then we recognized our city in one of the videos and realized he lived in Winston-Salem for a few years, in fact just a few blocks from us! Then we became a little obsessed and knew we couldn't pass up such a good opportunity to see him in person!

8:00 AM
On the road!

9:00 AM
Stopped for breakfast at waffle house. I always get the egg and cheese biscuit and this time we  splurged on a waffle!

 10:00 AM
We hadn't planned on going to Ikea.. But as we neared Charlotte we just couldn't help ourselves from stopping in.

11:00 AM
Digging into the the chocolate we impulsively bought at Ikea and a starbucks energy boost

12:00 PM
Driving through downtown Charlotte.

Check out that rainbow lens flare!

 1:00 PM
Stocking up on snacks at a gas station is always one of my favorite parts of a trip. But why I decided that doritos and  zebra cake would be a sufficient lunch is beyond me. Later in the day I was feeling pretty gross.

2:00 PM
The SC peach!  A giant peach sits along the interstate in South Carolina, keeping watch over the vast Peach orchards. I couldn't figure out why it had suddenly turned yellow, and then I realized they were priming it for a shiny new paint job.

 3:00 PM
Checking into our microtel

Forgot 4PM. It involved watching TV in the hotel room and regretting my junkfood lunch.

Checking out the SC botanical gardens. They have a pond with GIANT koi fish.

6:00 PM
Still wandering around the gardens

7-8 PM
Watching the show!

 9-10 PM
Looking for a place to grab some late night food. Found this little pizza joint, and it was kinda awkward because we were the only ones in there..

And that was our fun and busy day! It was nice to have a few days off of work and do something fun and different.
